The Role

This position is one of several hires, as we strengthen and expand our team. We are hiring an AI Engineer to bring our AI weather forecasting capabilities to the next level. You will work closely with our CTO to define research strategy and translate state-of-the-art methods into robust production systems.

This is a technical leadership role for someone who combines deep theoretical understanding of Deep Learning with hands-on production experience.

What you will do:

Design and implement advanced deep learning architectures for weather prediction

Define model architecture and training strategy together with the CTO

Integrate new research into scalable production pipelines

Analyse and debug model behaviour at a fundamental level

Collaborate with our climate scientists to ensure our models capture the physics that matter

Mentor and support other AI engineers

What we are looking for

Proven experience in Deep Learning, ideally with a connection to climate, physics, or earth sciences

Strong expertise in modern architectures such as transformers, graph neural networks, diffusion models, and sequence models

Proven experience bringing research models into production

Strong Python skills and experience with PyTorch or similar frameworks

Ability to provide clear technical direction and explain complex ideas

Based in the Netherlands and available at least 3 days per week in the office
