About Beyond Weather

We combine climate science and AI in our weather forecasting platform to bring reliable weather foresight, tailored to specific use cases. Governments, NGOs, businesses, and people around the world use our platform to look into the future and strengthen their climate resilience, saving money, resources, and lives.

Currently, we’re looking for an AI Engineer who is eager to join our start-up adventure.

Job Description & Responsibilities:

As an AI Engineer at Beyond Weather, you’ll work closely with climate scientists and software engineers to develop AI models, create data pipelines, build automation systems, and process vast datasets to power our weather forecasting platform. We expect you to:

Key Responsibilities

Build - Create, train, fine-tune, and run AI weather models.

Learn - Dive into the latest research, try out new things. Break stuff, and fix it. Anything to stay at the edge of the technological forefront.

Keep it clean - Document, review, test, debug. Invest in codebase integrity.

Collaborate - Communicate, take responsibility, speak up. You'll be part of a close-knit, talent-dense team.

Enjoy - You get to work on cutting-edge tech in a start-up environment.

Requirements & Compensation

Experience - Professional experience in collaborative Python development and delivering production-level code.

Deep Learning - Proven experience with DL methods.

Cloud - Experience with cloud GPU infrastructure is a plus.

Education - Master’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, (Climate) Physics, or related field.

Location - Based in the Netherlands, with a minimum of 3 office days a week. We can't sponsor visas or support relocations.

Communication - You can adjust your abstraction level and explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Weather - Familiarity with weather forecasting algorithms and meteorological data is a plus.

Compensation - Gross yearly salary of €47k - €60k depending on experience. We cover travel expenses within a 50km range. You'll become eligible for our SAR plan after year 1.
